I was so blessed that Dr. Shane Woolf was recommended to me for shoulder replacement surgery. Throughout the whole period of pre-op, surgery and post op, he has made me feel as though I was his only patient. The care I received at MUSC was outstanding and truly professional. I have recommended Dr. Woolf a number of times recently and those patients were so grateful for my recommendation. At my first visit with Dr. Woolf he offered 4 options for treatment of my injured knee. He had reviewed my prior exrays, talked to the previous Physican, and discussed the pros and cons of each option. When the MRI results were in, Dr.Woolf reviewed and explained every picture. We came to a decision and he scheduled a surgery appointment as soon as possible. He is a knowledgeable professional with excellent patient skills. All appointments were on time and he never seemed rushed.

Love Dr Woolf! He's an excellent physician, reserved demeanor but friendly and kind. Spends a long time with patients until all questions are answered. He's completely professional, non-judgmental and never condescending. I trust his advice completely.

He can diagnose sometimes without MRI, because of his experience. Explains the injury and options for rehab in thoughtful manner. He reminds millennial residents of their manners when necessary.

Dr. Woolf is methodical, reserved and extremely thorough. He was not quick to cut and agreed to my shoulder replacement after gaining a thorough understanding of my oncology history and the condition of my shoulder. He is confident and quiet. If you're looking for chatty, he's not it. He's an extremely talented surgeon. If you want your hand held, you have to ask lots and lots of questions. He's friendly when responding. He just doesn't offer a lot of information unless you keep asking.
